Andrews’ Care

Since your polo shirt is a great fashion wear for both formal and informal functions, it is important to take good care of it to keep it looking elegant anytime you wear it.  Here are a few tips to help you out.

    • Washing and Drying

Make sure to wash your polo shirt immediately.  If left dirty for long, yellow stains develop around the cuffs and collar.  These are hard to clean, and such a shirt is prone to wear and tear. Besides, it is easier to remove stains when they are fresh.

Always wash like colored cloths together.  This prevents ruining of light colored items by dark ones.  Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent for hand washing.  Warm water works excellently on white polo shirts.  If you choose machine wash, use cold water and make sure to follow recommended wash cycles.  Rinse properly, and hang out on a line to dry.  Hanging helps reduce creases especially if the Polo shirt is made of 100% natural fiber.

    • Ironing/Pressing

It is better to store your polo shirt well-pressed. In this case, iron immediately after drying. Those air dried are generally more wrinkled.  Use a heated iron on both the body and collar.  You can opt to spray starch on the collar to make it look sharper.

    • Folding and storage

If you want your shirt to be ready for wear always, avoid putting it carelessly on hangers or drawer.  On the contrary, choose wooden or plastic hangers and hang the shirt with the top button buttoned.  Also, put the collar to appear just like when worn.

This way, it holds its shape till the next time you choose to wear.
